Porsche Cup USA - Season 2 - Race direction

Round 1 Watkins Glen

Track limits violations

M. Mazzetti - 13 track limits violations | +10 seconds added to total race time
E. Sancini - 4 track limits violations | + 5 seconds added to total race time
A. Sancho - 5 track limits violations | +5 seconds added to total race time
D. Serra - 6 track limits violations | +5 seconds added to total race time
A. Karkuszewski - 6 track limits violations | +5 seconds added to total race time
A. Crespi - 5 track limits violations | +5 seconds added to total race time

(These track limits violations has been reported. Contact an admin if you want to know every time stamp of each violation)

We have been lenient this time as it's the first race, but it will be the last one.
Track limits rules has been clearly showed in the driver briefing.

From the regulation, 5. Points and rules - General rules:

8) Each participant has the responsibility to read and follow the forum, as well as to thoroughly read the briefing for each race. The failure of these two tasks will lead to an exclusion from the championship.

Formation lap

D. Serra passes F. Zerbetto, without giving back the position, gaining so a position in a illegal way. Drive through

F. Rocca doesn't use the pitlimiter. Warning

A. Bonaventi - M. Intrieri weaving in blatant and dangerous way during the formation lap, forcing M. Ferrari to brake and slow down. Weaving is forbidden as rules. Warning

A. Armiento starts too fast and the green light, at the start of the formation lap, tapping di Modugno in his rear bumper. Warning

P. Sassaroli brakes in a dangerous way in a place where it wasn't needed, nearly caused an incident. Also, he start way too late than the designated line, showing he didn't know what was the start point showed in the driver briefing. Warning

RACE

A. Armiento ts 190 - Armiento moves to the right side to set up the left handed turn, but Lopes is in his right side. As results of this, Armiento send Lopes into the wall causing him heavy damages. 10sec Stop&Go

F. Rocca ts 282 - Squeezes Bonaventi going into the Bus stop. Bonaventi has all the rights to stay there. Drive through

A. Sancho ts 584 - Squeezes Ricci going into the Bus stop. Ricci has all the rights to stay there. Drive through

A. Sancho ts 1565 - same dynamics with A. Jenero. Drive through

M. Ricci ts 1035 - Too optimistic move on Merlino, not well handled, making Merlino spun. Drive through

Note for Urrata: You must lock your brakes to avoid the car rolling backwards after an incident/spin.

Auto assigned penaltis post-race

M. Mazzetti received a drive through for false start, he didn't serve it during the race so rf2 added him 25 seconds at the chequered flag. This penalty is fair and has not been removed.
However, rf2 also added him a 1 lap penalty beacuse a lapped car has been detected behind, this 1 lap penalty has been removed.
Results fixed

M. Intrieri received 2 direct s&g by spinning of track in an attempt to avoid an incident. He didn't serve it during the race so rf2 added him 45 seconds at the chequered flag. The penalty has been removed. Results fixed.

Other
M. Ricci moved to the gold class.

Qualifying

D. Serra - chat - warning

Formation lap

M. Pettenati - overtake D. Ragni and didn't give back the position - Drive through

Race

A. Crespi TS 355 - Try to overtake Jenero in the inside of turn 1, the move was clear, but he suddently move to the right side, sending Jenero into the wall.
30s S&G
Unsafe and dangerous rejoin after the incident Warning

L. di Modugno TS 705 - Unsafe and dangerous move after an incident, causing a collision and heavy damages to Boscarin. If after a crash you are in the middle of the road, you have to lock the brakes and don't move until the track is clear, you don't have to use the reverse gear to move your car in front of the coming cars.
30s S&G

L. di Modugno TS 1030 - Dangerous driving with damaged car, causing a collision and damages to Zerbetto. You crashed, and then you spun as you lost the rear wing, there is no reason to take one of the fastest corner of the track at full speed without the rear wing and with cars behind. You have to move out the line and reach the pitlane in a safe speed.
10s S&G

B. Scalvini TS 1240 - Causing a collision during a yellow flag, when Zerbato, the stationary car, was clearly visible and avoidable.
30s S&G

F. Zerbetto TS 1381 - Borghi misjudged the braking point, sending Sequera wide, they are side by side exiting the turn. Zerbetto stayed in the inside line in order to pass them both, but at the exit of the turn, Zerbetto didn't put effort to keep his line, colliding with Sequera and making Borghi spun.

Round 3 Road America

Formation phase

M. Martin overtakes B. Hernandez without giving back the position Drive Through

M. Intrieri overtakes M. Diaz without giving back the position. The overtake is made with an aggressive behaviour Drive Through + warning

M. Lepoutre overtakes G. Nuvoli without giving back the position, and not using the pitlimiter until T2 Drive Through + warning

B. Scalvini is not using the pitlimiter for the entire formation phase. warning

Race

M. Intrieri ts 587 - Bettini rejoins the track after a spin in a safe manner, ahead of Intrieri. After the following turn, Bettini is still ahead, with Intrieri right on his tail. Intrieri brakes a bit earlier, as it should, but then suddently releases the brakes and uses the throttle to try a pass in the left side. There is no space for this move as they are in the braking zone, the results is a contact and Bettini spun.
Drive Through

A. Sancho ts 673 - Squeezes Borghi going into T2. Borghi has all the rights to stay there. Drive through
Note for Sancho: this is the 3rd incident with the same dynamic in 3 races, this must not happen again otherwise we'll take action.

A. Bettini ts 756 - Going into T11, during T10, there is a yellow flag clearly shown as there are 2 crashed car, Boscarin and Checchi. Boscarin press esc at the exit of T10, Checchi is driving very slowly after his crash. Checci is clearly visible for Bettini, even if the yellow flag is not shown anymore at this point. Bettini tries to pass Checchi at full speed in the fastest turn of the circuit, the result is an incident.
Note for Bettini: that was a crazy move, there was no point to try to pass the crashed car there, at full speed. Even if the yellow flag was not shown at that point, the slow car was clearly visible and you must pass it in a safe manner, it doesn't matter if you lose time doing it, is better to lose a second than end the race in a crazy way.
10s S&G

E. Sancini ts 1466 - Not using brakes at all after and incident, rolling back in the middle of the track for a lot of seconds. This is not a full penalty only because is not written in the rules now and there were no incidents, but it will be in the next season.

B. Scalvini ts 2599 - Ignored blue flags for more than a minute, holding back Carol. Drive through

Auto assigned penaltis post-race
M. Diaz received a DT penalty for false start for rolling back in the start countdown, due to upward road. He didn't serve it during the race so rF2 added him 25 seconds and 1 lap penalty at the chequered flag. The penalty has been removed and the results restored.

In the incident report, under "replay time", you have to write the replay time.

Note for A. Bonaventi

Incident reports must be submitted max 72h after the end of the race as per rules.

General note
14 DNFs are too much for a 45 min race. We expect to see better driving standards next time, otherwise races will not be livestreamed anymore.

Round 4 Homestead Miami

FORMATION PHASE

Guerrieri overtakes Checchi without giving back the position - Drive through
Urrata overtakes Nuvoli without giving back the position - Drive through
Ferrari is not usign the pitlimiter for a big part of the formation phase Warning

Merlino disengage the pitlimiter to regain the position lost, this is wrong. You have to keep your position and report the overtake after the race if the position is not given back Warning

Sancini (starting in p2) spin and rejoin in p7. This is wrong, as rules you have to slow down and rejoin the group in the last position. Start from the back in the next race

Zerbato - Magri - Lepoutre - Di modugno TS 100 - do not give enough safe distance, the result after an emerency brake from Zerbato is a collision Warning for all the 4 drivers


RACE

Sancho ts 296 - Bump overtake on Jenero and position not given back Drive Through
Intrieri ts 537 - Bump overtake on Hernandez and position not given back Drive Through
Merlino ts 555 - Braked too late and doesn't manage to avoid the collision, sending Borghi sideway Warning
Zerbetto ts 578 - Didn't put enough effort to keep the inside line in the exit fo the turn, sending Merlino off track. Warning
This is the second incident with the same dynamics, next one will not be a warning even if it's a light touch without any major issues like this one
Intrieri ts 838 - sends Zerbetto off track in t1 causing him damages Drive through
Sancho ts 1138 - Bad and wrong rejoin on track causing an incident with Kristow 10s S&G
Intrieri ts 1956 - Incident easily avoidable with the slow car on the left side Drive through
Intrieri ts 2000 - after the incident above, he is driving too fast with the car heavily damaged, the result is another collision with Sancho Drive through
Boniotti ts 2353 - sends Sassaroli off track in t1 causing him damages Drive through
Intrieri ts 2820 - Incident easily avoidable, under blue flag Drive through
Diaz ts 3735 - Squeezes Magri going into T1. Magri has all the rights to stay there. Drive through

Merlino received 2 warning in this race, as rules is a Drive through
Warnigs count resets to 0



Auto assigned penaltis post-race
Martin entered the pitlane to serve the drive through before it was assigned by the race direction, he didn't serve the assigned penalty during the race and rF2 added him 25sec + 1 lap. The lap penalty is removed because it's just a rF2 logic that must be solved always, but the 25sec penalty stay there. You have to wait the race director to assign the penalty and the rules are clear, it's even pretty clear after +1 year of racing with us.

Zerbetto received a s&g after going off track in t1, rF2 assigned him 35sec at the end of the race. Penalty removed.

Round 5 Sebring

FORMATION PHASE

Ferrari is not using the pitlimiter at all warning
This is the second time in a row..

RACE

Checchi ts 269 - squeezes Nuvoli off track and into the wall, not giving enough room. Nuvoli got major damages. 20s S&G

Martin ts 505 - Bad rejoin on track causing a minor collision with Magri. Never rejoin the track in that way, perpendicular to the apex of the turn, but just cut the turn and rejoin parallel to the track. Drive through

Scalvini ts 526 - Not needed and dangerous slowdown under blue flag, in the middle of the ideal line, causing a collision with Mazzetti. This is the worst thing to do in such cases, NEVER slow down in front of a car under blue flag, but give him room at the next braking point or move out the way in the straigth.
Also, if you are having hardware issues before the race start, fix them or avoid to start. 10s S&G

Boscarin ts 963 - A mistake during the braking for the last turn sent his car into Lepoutre, sending Mick into the wall and causing him big damages. 30s S&G

Ferrari ts 2262 - Bad rejoin on track. However, looks like he knew that a car was coming by looking at the telemetry (he braked and avoided the collision), but rejoins MUST be always done in a parallel way. warning


Ferrari received 2 warning in this race, as rules is a Drive through
Warnigs count resets to 1 (as before this race)

Round 6 Laguna Seca

FORMATION LAP

Boniotti-Sassaroli-Ferrari are not in the proper position, this is due to a issue of the track, they were placed in the incorret position in the grid. No Action
However, if you know the position where you are supposed to be, you can always fix it manually during the formation lap.

Boniotti starts at the wrong starting line, ~40 meters before the proper starting line Drive through

Karkuszewski disengage the pitlimiter for a quick fraction of time. Warning

Carol gained about 7 seconds by going in 6th gear in the corkscrew, carrying more speed, about 20kmh over the pitlimiter speed which was 65. He didn't restore the original gap then.
This is a very peculiar situation, that requires a brand new rule, otherwise is not covered by the ruleset.
As per new rule, added 21 seconds of the final race time.

RACE

Intrieri ts 600 - coming out from the corkscrew, Intrieri and Magri are side by side. Intrieri moved his car to the right side sending Magri into the wall, causing him heavy damages. Magri had all the rights to stay there, and Intrieri had a lot of space in his left side and even ahead.

Boniotti ts 2366 - In the main straight, Boniotti is about to lap Ferrari. In the middle of the overtake, Boniotti suddently move his car into Ferrari's car, sending him into the wall.

Auto assigned penaltis post-race

Boniotti comes into the pit to serve his drive through, but he stopped his car in the pitbox thinking it was a s&g. He did a pitstop so, as there was no S&G to serve. rF2 added him 25s at the end of the race because the DT has not be served.
The penalty is not removed, as rules, a penalty is not going to be removed in case of a human mistake.
The DT, accordingly, is now served.

Round 7 Road Atlanta

Nothing! Just few warnings that wouldn't change anything in the final standing.

However, there are people who didn't serve their penalties, so, in the last races availables has been added: +25s for a DT and +35s for a 10s S&G, the result is:

A. Armiento 10s S&G = nothing added as the last and only race available is Watkins Glen with a DNF.

A. Bettini 10s S&G = +35s added to the last race available, Watkins Glen. Position changed from 25th to 28th.

S. Guerrieri DT = +25s added to the last race available, Road America. Position changed from 11th to 12th.

M. Intrieri 30s S&G = +55s added to the last race available, Homestead Miami. Position changed from 19th to 20th.
